Hand of a Master: Governor of Tahiti's Punch

Occasionally, for drinks at summer parties, he may prepare a "Governor of Tahiti's Punch" - by inserting a bruised vanilla bean in a bottle of medium rum (Bacardi or Mount Gay) twenty-four hours in advance of the party. When guests arrive, the mysteriously flavored run is poured over crushed ice in champagne glasses and garnished with a slice of lime.
