50 and fabulous

A number of you wrote in asking for online resources for style tips for women in their 40's and 50's. I have read a number of sites now and I think these two have the best realistic handle on this demographic:

More Magazine has both comprehensive beauty and fashion areas. Find it here.

Secondly, Real Simple does have a solid grip on real life women and the styles they are willing to carry, versus those prescribed by couture magazine stylists. Find the style section on line here.

Both sites allow you to receive regular emails or use iPhone apps.

Finally, in the way of advice, this relatively generic about.com tutorial is the most comprehensive I have found regarding achieving your best look or looking ridiculous - there are pit falls in fashion at every age...

Finally, and I want to stress this: tailor your clothing.

I hope I have helped.

So glad I came upon your blog. i will certainly check these sites.I, too, was in fashion for years then started a furniture showroom and design business 15 years ago....being downtown (New York that is) I always dressed really hip and always in Black of course. Moved the showroom uptown and find that women wear fitted suits, bright colors and pearl necklaces. All of a sudden , i am in a mood to change my style....

Thanks so much for responding to our request. I think you came up with some really great resources, and I'll use them often. I especially enjoyed this quote -"Aging is a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind it doesn't matter." :)
