Shoes are beautiful. Price, ridiculous. Maybe they intended to make only ONE pair. I think I could do this with a simple pair of black satin pumps & some glue and lots of time. Funny & lovely.
I like the idea, but the execution isn't working for me... I'd have to vote Couture train wreck... I expect better from Valentino and I wouldn't pay $5K for them even if I was a Gagillionaire!
In the still shot, these shoes look kind of cool and interesting. Not my taste, really, but that's okay. However, on the model, they are horrific. It looks as though the model has run through a campfire. Art, maybe; beauty, no.
I've had shoes that didn't appear substantially different after a little bit of a "hard" night followed by a walk home in the early morning mist. *Those* shoes, however, cost perhaps $25 tops. To spend many, many times more for the same result seems foolish to me.
Then again, Valentino is Valentino and well out of my league so what do I know? Not much.
This is what I don't understand. If one is prepared to spend that, why not spend it on bespoke? This design is far too fussy (but I have never really liked Valentino)- the detailing on the front and sides looks messy rather than lyrical and is detracting from the back.
As someone who is still getting over foot surgery, this look is painful. My podiatrist would smile and call this shoe height "job security." As the too much money for too much shoe argument: what planet are these people living on?
Love the design...The side view is best. But I agree that I would never pay $5000 for a pair of shoes I could recreate myself. Not to mention it would be disrespectful to so many people in this world who can't afford to buy a single pair.

Goodness, with my two left feet I would be much too terrified to wear such shoes!
Oooh... I don't know hostess... I think I love it. BUT not for that much money!
Looks a little like hairy feet :)

They look like they belong in a museum!!

The price is crazy, I mean really, the shoes are feminine and frilly, however even for Valentino, too too much.

Brings to mind the saying "You know you have too much money when you buy [fill in the blank]"
These shoes are for that girl (or the man who buys her things)...
Very pretty, indeed. I've got to give them that.

Oh my! I think they went overboard with the lace, otherwise it would have been a beautiful shoe.
hmmm...they are rather lovely and trampy at the same time... we suppose we could find a use for them...hee!
S+S
Looks likes the Valentino designers had an Etsy moment.
They are certainly a work of art, arn't they? But all I can think is I could buy a sofa for that!
Pretty all the same.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Okay, I love the shoes, the price tag, not so much. Can you believe the price? I have never seen a pair of shoes priced that high.
But you have to admit the shoes are sexy, black lace and carefree...evokes a lot.
