Julianna Smoot, new White House Social Secretary
The Obama administration has confirmed the appointment of Julianna Smoot to the position of White House Social Secretary.
Smoot replaces Desiree Rogers (below).
Rogers came under fire for, among other things, becoming too much a guest and too little an event organizer, being something of a publicity hound, allowing gate crashers into the administration's first State Dinner, and spending a good deal of time at Fashion Week in New York, at least some of it very noticeably located next to Anna Wintour and Donna Karan.
Julianna Smoot, the Obama fundraiser who became known as the 75 million dollar woman is a straight-talking detail girl originally from North Carolina who has held positions in three senatorial staffs and the Trade office.
Wishing both luck in their new endeavors.

Good choice! I think everyone started to become concerned with Desiree when there were more pictures circulating around of her posing rather than doing her job. The best of luck to her.
BIG improvement in my view!
Agree - this choice makes sense. Doesn't it appear that Ms. Rogers forgot her pants in that pic w/ Anna Wintour?! Marija
Mrs. R. and A&A - agreed! less preening, more working.
Marija - I wondered if anyone would mention that, it was the reason I picked the photo... something is obviously very bizarre there - same jacket, photo'd on the same day. What IS she wearing? Where are her pants?
Lordy.
My Husband's bet is that she folded it up earlier then rolled it down into a mini later. Still bizarre.
Julianna will be great in this position and get down to business!!
