Florals: Jasmine on my mind

I have been keeping a close eye on my jasmine columns this fall. Unusually for Confederate Jasmine, they had a close call with some unknown, unseen enemy but, I believe I have it under control.

In my recent wanderings in Charleston and at Jekyll Island, I've been observing jasmine training which left me wishing my columns would have bloomed while we were still here. Before, that is, Josh and our home here move to Washington DC next month.

It can be truly a thing to behold.

I thought I would track down some reminders, for winter, and for seasons in the north when jasmine blooms will be far away. I could wear it...

Jo Malone, White Jasmine and Mint

Or something a little darker perhaps?
Bulgari, Jasmine Noir

Vegan, maybe?

Confederate Jasmine solid perfume ($4.75!!), You Stink Soap (I don't make up the names, folks)

Or secret it away in the shower.

Akhassa Nurture Jasmine Shower Cream, Akhassa Skinbotanica

Encounter it in my tea cup...

Jasmine Petal Tea, VitaminLife

As a baubble....

Awaken Jasmine, QVCUK

But when the time comes again though, I will be truly prepared to take advantage of the blooms:

Like so much in life, it is a question of making strides in patience when I wish seasons and geography did not require it of me.

And do not forget to Follow Blushing Hostess for six weeks of giveaways for holiday entertaining beginning next week!

Where can we get that solid perfume? I LOVE this smell, it comes in a close second to gardinas, those are make me melt. But, I would love some of that Jasmine perfume for 4.75 :)

What beautiful pictures. I love jasmine! I can't grow it to save my life, but I love it anyway...lol.

This has nothing to do with jasmine but I did want to recommend that you have dinner at the Hominy Grill before you leave Charleston - truly one of the great meals of my life!

And if you are moving to the Washington area, avoid MD if you can and try Upper Northwest Washington - lots of lovely old houses and neighborhoods. I lived in the City for years; first in Dupont Circle where I could walk to work then uptown to Connecticut & Davenport (lovely pre-war building, rent-controlled, 1,000 SF for 1 person!!) The traffic in Nothern Virginia (NOVA) is mind-boggling - really and commutes are ardous so please keep it in mind. But you will enjoy it!

Your post was just beautiful and so interesting. BTW, I wear Jo Malone fragrances and you can't go wrong with them. I love their fragrances but have never tried the Jasmine/Mint. Good Luck to you on your move.

I love jasmine. I had some trailing along my fence and intertwining with my bougainvillea but something happened to it. The other day I noticed it is starting to come back at one end of the fence so I was very happy about that. Just love the smell.

I am definitely going to check out You Stink Soap. Thank you for sharing!

I also love Jasmine. We have some in front and back and can never get enough of the scent. Only my friends the gardenia and the plumeria rival it for sheer "take me away" smellology!
